Yarn & Processing Information

Every yarn is sourced mulesing free from suppliers out of Europe and South America. Currently all bases are superwash and can be gently washed in a machine or by hand and should not felt- but loving care will keep your hand knits (or crochets) looking great for years to come. Hand washing and laying flat to dry is the recommended way to wash your indie-dyed projects.

All yarns are dyed in very small batches and color-set with acid (citric acid or vinegar) and heat. They have all rinsed clear in the washing process, however, it is always possible to have a little color run on the first wash. This is not a problem, it can simply be a difference in water and natural oils from your hands. When doing a larger project, I cannot stress enough to pull yarn from two skeins at a time, constantly rotating skeins. Handdyed yarns will never be exactly identical.
